My Atlanta Adventure Part 3!

Hey guys, happy Sunday! I hope you’ve all had great weeks and have another great week to come!

I’ve been home now for just under 2 days and although it’s nice being home (I’ve missed my dogs sooo much!) I’m still a little sad that my vacation has ended so soon. Regardless though, I’d like to catch you up on what I did for the rest of my holiday!

As I mentioned in my last post, on Saturday we were driving up to Florida. Commence a gruelling 7 and a half hour car journey that I was more than happy to see end. That day we got settled into our apartment that was rented for the duration of the stay and took advantage of the resort’s pool! As much as I hate swimming (or being in water in general…you know…apart from having a shower etc…I’m clean, I promise!) my boyfriend managed to coerce me into the pool where I messed around with him for a bit and then proceeded to bang my foot and ankle on the metal stairs leading out of the pool, giving myself a couple of nasty bruises. Ouch. After we showered we went out to eat at a nice little Italian restaurant which was delicious, and then we took a late night visit to Universal Studios! We mostly looked around and took pictures as the rides were closed and so were many of the shops.

Sunday was a relatively uneventful day. Florida greeted us with heavy rain and thunderstorms and we visited friends who put on a party of sorts with food. Also I walked into a glass door like one of those dogs in cartoons, and a frog jumped on my foot.

On Monday we went to Disneyland! I’m not a huge fan, but it was nevertheless a fun experience. There were some pretty cool rides (especially the Lilo and Stitch ‘ride’!), but nearly all of them had 30-40 minute waiting times. Were any of them really worth the wait? Not in my opinion, but since I am an eternal cynic, thrill seeker, and, as mentioned, not really a Disney fan, I’m sure many people would think that it was. Despite my aching legs and the waits, I still had a lot of fun laughing and joking with everyone and spending time with family.

Tuesday…another delightful car journey…except this time it lasted for 10 hours instead of just 7 and a half. We collapsed into bed when we arrived home.

I don't have any pictures for that day so here's a picture of a puppy instead

This brought us to Wednesday and, yet again, we went shopping! We spent most of the day looking and purchasing from the different shops, and now my bank account hurts. Like, physically hurts me. During the evening we went out for a meal since this was our last full day. Hilariously, after the meal we all decided to go to a strip club. Yes, a strip club. We got ready and left for the club in which we spent quite a few hours. Since it was mine and my boyfriend’s first time at a strip club we mostly just gawked at the strippers on the poles. Then my boyfriend’s brother bought us both a dance, which was both a strangely enjoyable and awkward experience. There was one pretty awesome moment however when my stripper held onto my ankles and did a kind of naked hand/headstand on me.

I don’t have any photos of the strip club…:p

By the time we got home it was about 4am and I spent about half an hour complaining that I didn’t want to start packing my suitcase and then I eventually just did it and fell asleep.

I'm still terrified by this heart-attack on a plate.

Got the stack for the strip club XD

Our last day was Thursday. Our flight was late in the evening and so we had the day to spend with family before we left. At lunchtime we went to a gun range, where I shot my first gun! It was slightly terrifying, but I managed the gun relatively well, didn’t kill anyone and didn’t hit myself in the face with the gun due to the recoil. The first gun I shot I think was a 380. calibre and the second gun was a more powerful 40. cal. During the afternoon we ran some last minute errands and got something to eat, and then we came home and finished packing and went to the airport.

By the way, if you’re interested in watching the videos of me shooting a gun for the first time, let me know! I’m considering uploading them 🙂

No, they really don't...
No, they really don’t…

It was really sad to leave family, but I’m looking forward to the next time we can visit!

Hope you enjoyed this post, and until next time guys.

My Atlanta Adventure Part 2!

Hey guys, happy Saturday! I’m uploading this post late at night because I won’t have time to tomorrow…but more on that later. I hope you’re all having great weekends so far, and since it’s been about 6 days since I last updated you on my vacation I thought I would let you all know what I’ve been up to!

So, where I left off last time. It was Sunday and my boyfriend was just puking EVERYWHERE. As predicted in my last post, we did spend the entire day indoors, mostly just in bed.

On Monday however he felt a lot better and has not puked since (yay!), but since he had been ill the previous day we didn’t want to push it and we had a nice relaxing day with family. We ordered a pizza which was not great tbh, and during the night we all put on face masks (even the guys, which was hilarious) and posed for photos. Then we caught a late showing of ‘Insidious 2’ which was not the greatest of films, but was relatively enjoyable and had some genuinely creepy moments.

IMG_4656 IMG_4666

Then Tuesday came around! We had a bit of a late start and spent some time driving around the city of Atlanta. Then we went to Centennial Park where there were – among other things – a ferris wheel, an aquarium and the Coca Cola museum. Unfortunately we were a bit too late to go into some of the attractions and so we spent about 3 hours in the aquarium which not only had a lot of pretty fish, but also had dolphins, sea lions, penguins, albino crocodiles and beluga whales! After that we went and played in a nearby water feature with the rest of the 3 year olds, briefly visited the CNN building and then we went out to eat.

IMG_4706 IMG_5071 IMG_4853 IMG_5111 IMG_5007

When Wednesday came we didn’t really have much that we wanted so during the day we relaxed, and then during the night we went to an arcade. Originally we had wanted to go roller skating, but they were closed. Then we tried to play laser tag, but they were also closed. So instead we messed around at the arcade for quite a while and then went bowling. I achieved my aim of not coming last (I came second to last) and then we went home.

IMG_5115 IMG_5118

On Thursday we again relaxed most of the day, however we did go out to eat a delicious meal for lunch and then during the night we all snuggled down in our pyjamas and watched a movie.

So excited for that food
So excited for that food

That leaves Friday! On Friday we went go karting which was a kind of scary experience for me since I don’t have a lot of faith in my ability to not crash, but I actually managed not to kill myself! After that we messed around in the batting cages for a while, then grabbed a burrito on the way home. As soon as we got home we had to leave again as we wanted to catch the weekend showing of the Stone Mountain laser show, which was pretty impressive!

IMG-20150905-WA0001 IMG-20150905-WA0002

So that’s been my week so far! I have to wake up at about 5am this morning (Saturday) as we’re driving up to Florida for the weekend and returning on Monday! That will be a really nice weekend break (even though the weather forecast says that it will be raining the whole time) and it will be a nice end to a lovely vacation (we leave at night on 10th September).

Hope you all have great weekends!

Until next time guys,

Carley ❤

Hey guys, happy Sunday!

It’s been a while since I posted anything – I had planned to have a few blog posts up including at least one post on my current vacation by now, but unfortunately I’ve been ill for the past week so I haven’t been able to get anything done 😦

I’m in Atlanta, Georgia having arrived here exactly a week ago today. Like I said, I’ve been ill with a pretty nasty cold (I always seem to get ill after long flights) so we possibly haven’t done as much as we’d been hoping.

We’re here visiting (and staying with) family, which is a really nice change from staying in a hotel as you get to see all the local places that you wouldn’t normally get to see in a hotel!

We arrived on Sunday night and both myself and my boyfriend were pretty jet-lagged. We stayed awake until probably about 11pm and then called it a day. On Monday we went grocery shopping – not the most fun thing to do on holiday but we had fun buying all the junk food :p after that we spent the day talking to family. It was Monday that I noticed that I had a slight sore throat and I remember vaguely thinking to myself that I hope I don’t get ill. Ironic, I know.

On Tuesday we – you guessed it – went shopping again! This time to an actual mall though. We drove through the centre of Atlanta and did plenty of sightseeing on the way to the different malls and then of course we did A LOT of shopping. By this point my throat was hurting quite a lot and my nose was blocked. Yep, definitely ill, but I wasn’t too unwell to not have a good time.

So then Wednesday came. I woke up and felt like I was dying. We didn’t do anything that day. I spent the morning feeling sorry for myself whilst in the back garden on the deck…got completely eaten by mosquitos but it was so calming and pretty that day that I didn’t mind. Then we watched a movie and went out to get some pizza which I unfortunately could not taste at all because of my blocked nose. This was perhaps the lowest point of my day 😦

Then it was Thursday! I woke up feeling a lot better, like I could actually get out of bed that day. I was still ill…but I could taste again which I was so thankful for, but I did have a really terrible cough and later in the day I lost my voice.

We decided to go to the zoo that day, which was really cool! Lots of different animals to see and we literally spent about 4 hours there. After the we went out to eat and then came home and relaxed!

On Friday the cough was still there and the voice was still gone…but that would not stop me from going shopping again! In the morning we ran errands with family, and in the afternoon we went to the mall because my boyfriend needed to go to the Apple store to get his phone fixed. Here’s where the kind of lame part comes in. They couldn’t fix his phone and they had to give him a new one…but he had forgotten to back it up recently so we lost all of our pictures – and I didn’t have any because I usually leave picture taking up to him…

So apologies for anyone who follows me on Instagram etc., I will probably be reusing some pictures from there in this post!Screenshot_2015-08-28-20-12-35-1

On Saturday we again went shopping because it’s my boyfriend’s brother’s birthday on Monday and we wanted to get him a gift. We did so…and we also spent maybe a bit too much money on ourselves as well! Also I bought a weird burrito thing that was so disgusting and made me want to puke. Just thought I’d let you all know about that, it was ew. In the evening it was party time! My boyfriend’s family were holding a party for his brother and friends and family from all over came to eat the food and celebrate, which was pretty awesome! Suffice to say we did not get to sleep until about 3am that night.

Me eating that burrito. Yeah.
Me eating that burrito. Yeah.

IMG_4450 IMG_4476 IMG_4508

So that brings us onto today. What am I doing today? Not much, because in my boyfriend’s true fashion of upstaging me with his illnesses he woke up this morning feeling sick, puked a few times over the course of a couple of hours and has been sleeping ever since. This was not alcohol related to all those wondering…not this time anyway :p hopefully once he wakes up he’ll feel a lot better.

Today will probably just be a lazy day where we relax in the house, and I’m not sure what the rest of our vacation will bring! One thing that I know we will be doing is going to a gun range, which is pretty terrifying to me!

Hope you all have great weeks ahead and I will update you again soon!

Until next time guys

The Rest of My Trip…

IMG_1845 IMG_1851

Hey there! It’s been a little while since my last post (in my defence it was really hard to get decent WiFi while I was away!) and a lot has happened. It’s been 4 days since I returned home and I’ve finally unpacked and sorted all of my stuff out. I’ve been told a couple of times that I look tanned (HA!), which, as all exceptionally pale people know, really just means that I look slightly less dead than before. All of the sunburn that I managed to get despite wearing factor 50 sun cream has faded away now, so I suppose those are the bits of me that look ‘tanned’.

Continuing where I left off last time; it was now Thursday.

We visited Naples in Italy, and as the ship left early at 2pm that day we decided to book an excursion to visit the ancient city of Pompeii. Pompeii was destroyed when Mount Vesuvius exploded and basically just killed everyone with its fiery volcano lava of death. It was pretty cool to look around an entire city that was so prosperous at the time; but as I’m not one for sightseeing I did start getting a little bored near the end. This boredom was briefly alleviated when we got to the brothels and saw that they were marked with a hilarious wall fixing of a stone penis, and saw that inside the brothels there were some pretty awkward sex positions carved into the stone on the walls. You know, just in case they ran out of ideas. The brothels did not look particularly appealing to me to be honest, the beds were made out of stone, which, I guess is what you would expect in an ancient city…but still…ouch.

We also the remains of a dead man and his dog that had been completely covered in the lava and ash – so much so that they looked like stone sculptures. It was both fascinating and creepy. And a little sad I guess too.

It was insanely hot that day with little sunshine so I was honestly happy when it was time to leave as I was dying. LITERALLY DYING. For the rest of that day we just relaxed on the ship.

IMG_1933 IMG_1975 IMG_2165

On Friday it was my birthday! The ship docked in La Spezia and we took a train to Pisa. A lot of things actually went wrong that day. We went to visit the baptistery and cathedral, but were not able to get tickets for the Leaning Tower of Pisa because they were all booked up that day. Then one of the tourist-y armament buildings we had wanted to see was closed, and a chocolate shop which was supposed to be amazing turned out to be closed for just that day, which really sucked. So we took the train back to La Spezia and got ready to go out to eat. We couldn’t find two of the restaurants that my boyfriend had scoped out for us and the other restaurants were either closed or too far away. After about half an hour of searching for any other restaurant and finding only bars and seafood restaurants (which we hate), we gave up and went back to the ship, hoping that we would be able to book a last minute reservation for one of the ship’s fancy restaurants.

Fortunately we did manage to do that and we spent the rest of the night eating delicious food, drinking a little bit too much champagne, and then ordering an expensive bottle of champagne to our room which we proceeded to only drink a quarter of, before falling asleep. Things didn’t go to plan and my boyfriend was none too happy about that, but it didn’t ruin my day and I mainly just laughed it off 🙂

IMG_2322 IMG_2358 IMG_2413IMG_2629

On Saturday we arrived in Savona. There’s not much really to say about this day; it was cold and rainy and windy. We explored for a little while but ultimately decided to go back to the ship early.

IMG_2648 IMG_2669 IMG_2757

On Sunday we were in Marseille, which would have been an awesome place full of shopping opportunities – if it wasn’t a Sunday. Nearly everywhere was closed (except McDonald’s – good old McDonald’s) and we explored for quite a while, but after only finding a limited few places open we decided to go back to the ship. On the way we found an amazing chocolate shop which MOSTLY made up for the one in Pisa being closed, and I spent ages in there. Then there was a hotel fire and we stood around and gawked with everyone else for a few minutes before heading back. Unfortunately on the way back we noticed a single open shopping centre and so we had to travel back there, but by that time we only had an hour before the ship was meant to leave so we could only look around for a quick half an hour. That was pretty disappointing since there were actually some really great stores that I would have loved to have gone into.

IMG_2885 IMG_2820

On Monday we left the ship and made our way to our hotel in Barcelona. We left our luggage with the concierge and began exploring. We first went to a zoo where the inner child and animal lover in me got to look at all of the lions and tigers and moose and flamingos. I briefly entertained the idea of riding one of the horses that were available to give small children rides for a couple of euros, before deciding against it and instead dragging my boyfriend into the children’s section of the zoo and ambushing the petting area where I stroked all of the goats with the rest of the five year olds. They licked my hands. It was epic.

After that we paid $40 to visit the aquarium which was very underwhelming and so not worth the money! We ate and then we went to Camp Nou – the Barcelona football stadium where my boyfriend had booked tickets to tour the stadium. We were literally there for about 4 hours. I’m not even remotely interested in any kind of sports so I was pretty bored, but my boyfriend loved it and so I mustered up as much enthusiasm as I could and tried to be at least semi-interested in the tour :p

IMG_3193 IMG_3233 IMG_3459 IMG_3753

We spent most of Tuesday both exploring the city as well as shopping. We must have visited at least 5 different shopping centres, and we also travelled to the La Sangria Familia Basilica – which is a pretty famous church in Barcelona. We didn’t want to stand in line for tickets so we just took pictures of the outside of it rather than going in. Then we went back to the hotel, got changed and went to the beach! At about 8:30pm we went back to the hotel to shower etc. and we started our long journey to find a restaurant that didn’t sell solely seafood. We eventually found one where the staff were relatively rude and did not take our orders correctly…but beggars can’t be choosers I suppose.

IMG_3930 IMG_3953 IMG_3938 IMG_4062

Wednesday was our last day, and we spent it sightseeing and shopping again, before heading back to the hotel in the afternoon to pick up our things and travel to the airport.

My next holiday will commence in about 2 weeks. I’m going to Atlanta (I explain why I’m going away twice in such short intervals in my previous posts), so expect another travel journey blog then!

I know it’s been a little while since I uploaded a post dedicated to singing, so one will be uploaded sometime tomorrow. Thanks so much for reading, until next time guys! ❤

Barcelona & Going on a Cruise

The Trip So Far…

IMG_1160 IMG_1230 IMG_1347

The last blog post that I created was about travelling – both past and present (in which I forgot to mention that I had been to France a few times :p)…this post is about my current trip!

As I believe I mentioned in the previous post, I went on this trip with absolutely no knowledge of where I was going or what I was doing – turns out I was going to a lot of places! I’m on a cruise that started and will end in Barcelona, and after it ends I will spend a few extra days exploring Barcelona.

This is the first time I have been on a cruise and so far it has been a pretty unique experience! I was worried that I would suffer from travel sickness, but I’ve only really felt nauseous once whilst on the ship (we were going over choppy water). This is my third day aboard a 7 day cruise. As I said, the first day was in Barcelona and we used that time to get acquainted with the ship. It is HUGE. It’s like being in a huge, moving building! And it’s pretty beautiful too. Lavish decorations and lights everywhere, great views from the top of the ship and some amazing views of the sunset!

IMG_1082 IMG_1161 IMG_1185

We spent the second day in Palma De Mallorca. We mostly sunbathed at the beach and I of course got sunburnt despite using factor 50 sun cream. That’s really the curse of having really pale skin – I’m forced to hide from the sun like a vampire most of the time! We also spent a lot of time walking around the city and shopping, and it was a really nice day.

In the evening back on the ship we played laser shooting games for a while, walked around the ship and watched the sun set as we ate dinner.

IMG_1250 IMG_1264 IMG_1347

Today (Wednesday) we are spending the day at sea. To fill the time we decided to book a couples massage and a day pass for the spa. The massage was a hot stone massage…something which I was kind of worried about because, you know, what if the stones were too hot and they burnt me or something? Hot stones on delicate skin is a scary thought to me.

This was the first professional massage that my boyfriend and I had ever had so it was a nice experience. It was very relaxing and the masseuse didn’t burn my skin off, so that was also a plus. I nearly fell asleep I was so relaxed. I’m not sure a massage is worth the price we paid (which, trust me, it was expensive), but we definitely enjoyed it! After that we spent a few hours in the whirlpool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room (which I swear is the same thing?). After that we ate and…that brings us to now. What will we do for the rest of the night? Who knows! There’s a gala dinner in the evening and our day pass for the spa is valid until 10pm and there are always events going on on the ship, so we’ll find something to do.

IMG_1407 IMG_1474 IMG_1546

At the moment we’re en route to Naples, Italy. We’ll arrive tomorrow morning and we have booked a tour to visit Pompeii, which is something I’m really excited about! On Friday it’s my birthday and we’ll be in La Spezia, on Saturday we’ll be in Savona, and on Sunday we’ll be in Marseille until Monday when we get dropped back to Barcelona.

Keep a look out for more blog posts, pictures, a new YouTube video upload and updates on my travels. Just because I’m gone doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about you!

My Past Holidays and My Upcoming Holidays!!!!

Welcome to my first ramble-y, inner musings kind of post. As much as it may be ramble-y, and as much as it may be inner musing-y; I’m writing this post for a good reason.

I’m going on holiday. Where to? No idea. It’s a surprise apparently, since it’s my birthday soon. In a sense, it’s come at a bad time since I’ve just got my YouTube channel up and running and just started this blog, but this is why I’m posting about it – so that way you know the reason behind why I may get a bit behind on my posts/YouTube videos!

At the minute I’m currently scrambling to record songs, get videos shot, edit them, think up blog post ideas, write them, manage social media….etc. etc. in order to have a bit of a backlog of videos and posts that I can just upload consistently, but in an unexpected and exciting twist, it turns out that that my boyfriend’s family have bought tickets for us to go and visit them in Atlanta for 2 and a half weeks….only 2 and a half weeks after we get back from our other holiday! So, not only does this mean that I have a whole load of planning for the holiday that I was expecting, I now have double that amount of planning and content creating for the holiday that I wasn’t expecting.

I’m going to try my hardest to keep things consistent and to at least produce enough content to not run out whilst I’m away, but if I do fall behind rest assured that I will be posting A LOT of photos (which you will be able to find in real time on both my Instagram and Facebook accounts which are linked in my ‘About Me’ page) and I plan to make a photo blog post so that you can share the experience with me!

With all this in mind, I’m in a vacationing mood, so I thought I would list all of the holidays that I’ve been on (that I can remember!) and talk about a few of the more memorable ones. Pictures will be included so beware of young(er) Carley!

Bulgaria – this is my most recent holiday that I went on in August 2014. We went to the infamous Sunny Beach, but it wasn’t as crazy as we had heard! Maybe it was because we left on August 29th near the end of the holiday period, but we were expecting a lot more drunk people! Despite all the clubs and the many conveniently place strip clubs (there was a strip club about 30 seconds away from our 4* hotel…v convenient, we went there a lot. That was a joke :p), there was still a lot of history to discover and the beaches were beautiful! The only downside was the food, which I didn’t enjoy at all personally, and both my boyfriend and I ended up getting sick! I spent the last few days of the holiday in the hotel’s medical room in the morning watching my boyfriend get fluids intravenously dripped into him, and the evenings watching him sleep it off. Thank God we had insurance!

Bulgaria 5 Bulgaria 6 Bulgaria 7 Bulgaria Bulgaria 2 Bulgaria 3 Bulgaria 4

Antigua – because who doesn’t want to visit the Caribbean? This was a trip to visit my boyfriend’s family so we stayed with his aunt. It was pretty cool seeing where my boyfriend grew up, and it was amazing how small the country is – literally everyone knows everyone! The beaches were amazing of course, but I got absolutely EATEN by the insects!

Antigua 5 Antigua 4 Antigua 3 Antigua 2 Antigua Antigua 6

China and Hong Kong – this was a holiday we took in March 2013 with my boyfriend’s family. It was definitely an amazing experience! In China everything was so cheap (unlike in Hong Kong, which was crazy expensive), and in both Hong Kong and China we were treated a little bit like celebrities since all of the people that lived there constantly kept asking for our pictures since they weren’t used to seeing non-Chinese people! Apart from one awkward incident where we walked so much all day and I got so tired that I started crying whilst waiting in line to go to The Peak, it was a pretty amazing holiday!

China China 7 China 6 China 5 china 4 China 3 China 2

Italy, Venice – this holiday was a present for my 18th birthday in July 2012. It was hot as hell but so laid back and the culture was amazing. We went on a super over-priced gondola ride that only lasted about 15 minutes, and we ate lots of pizza!

Venice 6 Venice 5 Venice 4 Venice 3 Venice

America, New York –  unfortunately this is where my pictures end – but this was also a trip for a birthday – my 17th! What can I say about New York? It’s New York! We saw an amazing Broadway show on my birthday, got stuck in the city’s never-ending traffic every day and DID SO MUCH SHOPPING. SO MUCH.

Japan – this was a pretty awesome school trip that I was fortunate enough to be able to go on. I was particularly excited about this one because I have always wanted to learn Japanese. Unfortunately it was a skiing trip but I put the immense pain of my own un-athleticism aside and still managed to enjoy the fact that I was in Japan. Also we got to travel on a Pokémon airplane. Yup. That’s right. It was yellow and there were Pokémon painted onto the outside.

Finland – another school skiing trip – it’s the only holiday that I’ve been on that hasn’t been to a hot place, I love the snow and it was awesome to go somewhere that was covered in it! I’d really like to go on another snowy holiday soon. I didn’t so much enjoy the part where we had to do ice fishing however, and one of the Finnish chaperones kept waving the fish at me and pretending to make it talk. It wasn’t funny, but she thought it was hysterical.

Spain: Tenerife, Playa De La Americas, Lanzarote etc. etc. – I’ve been to so many places in Spain when I was young! Somewhere in there was a holiday where my mum told me that Santa Claus didn’t exist. I was 13 but I was still devastated. I don’t have any digital pictures for these holidays but maybe in the future I’ll scan them into a post!

So these are all my holidays so far…I think. Perhaps in a future post I’ll make a list of all the places that I want to go, and why! But in the meantime, where have you been on holiday?!

Hopefully I will be able to carry on uploading – it depends a lot on whether the upload speed at wherever I’m going will be any good! Thanks for reading my post today,

Until next time guys ❤
